See What Develops

I’ve been photographing for a while, but I’ve never had the courage to try anything with film. I find that digital is easier to work with and I feel like film photographers have a certain kind of magic that I can’t quite duplicate. I decided this week to combine my love of writing and my love of photography into this piece! It has a bit more of a horror twist than I was initially expecting, but I’m actually quite pleased with how it turned out! Enjoy!

The Lighthouse

This month’s fiction comes from the depths of the ocean. I weirdly love how little we know about the waters that surround us. I always grew up close to the water and, if you look out onto the water, it’s hard not to wonder what lurks deep below. We spend so much time looking above, wouldn’t it be neat to see what’s right below the surface? Enjoy!

Coffee with Galene

I took a “Celtic Art, Myth and Culture” class the last couple of Saturdays. I always like to incorporate different kinds of mythology into my writing. For a long time in Middle and High School, I was writing a lot about Greek and Roman mythology. I enjoy learning about mythologies and folklore, so taking the course in Celtic myths was a great refresher (and a bit of a mental palette cleanser). So, please enjoy this newest story:

The King’s Serpent

I’ve always kind of a love-hate relationship with snakes. I like them plenty and think they can be quite beautiful to look at. However, if you try to hand me one, I’ll probably shy away. As far as reptiles go, I think that they’re very expressive and super interesting to look at. Regardless of how you feel about them, enjoy this new short fiction! (Just know that this story does contain snakes)

The Gentlemen Thief’s Guild

I always had an idea of a group of polite thieves, always asking permission before robbing someone. From there, the idea of the Gentlemen Theif’s Guild was formed. It bumped around in my head and I finally decided to put something down on paper recently! I might explore more of these characters later but wanted to really get a sense of the Gentlemen Thieves first.
